Ageratum is a beautiful plant native to tropical regions of the Americas, but it's now popular as an annual in temperate areas. Ageratum are easy to grow and can tolerate both full sun and partial shade.

Ageratum's green foliage is augmented by bright, "soft-as-cotton" blooms held tightly atop compact plants. Curious people can't resist stopping for a close look and touching the blooms to see if they are as soft as they appear. Blooms are traditionally blue, but with recent breeding we have other colors available: purple, violet, and white.

Ageratum prefer a well-drained soil. Plan to pinch your starter plants once they are established to create a bushier final product. Deadhead the flowers to keep them blooming all summer. Primary pests are spider mites and whiteflies.

Rooted Cuttings

Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.
