Double Begonias are wonderful annuals blooming almost continuously with full double (rosebud-type) blooms. For landscapes or containers these should be among the easiest to grow especially outdoors in a shade/partial shade area. We also offer Double Begonias in URC (unrooted cuttings).
Plant 1 plug per 4in pot and pinch within 2 weeks. Grow at 55-60 degree night temperature. Use low feed in well-drained soil. May need occasional pinching if grown for an extended time. 10in baskets need 4 plugs per pot and 1 pinch at 2-3 weeks. For a larger basket pinch twice and grow for 10 weeks.
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families, but most can be described as tip cuttings (ivy are leaf-and-eye stem cuttings not tips) that stick nicely
in small plug trays such as the 105-plug tray we use (some varieties are better suited for a 50 cell tray, i.e. Angelwing Begonia, Bougainvillea, Setcrecea, etc.). Please do not order unrooted cuttings unless you are an experienced propagator with mist systems and proper temperature control.
