The Ipomea Sweet Potato was grown in Polynesia before western exploration. Ipomea Sweet Potato has been radiocarbon-dated in the Cook Islands to 1000 AD, and current thinking is that it was brought to central Polynesia around 700 AD, possibly by Polynesians who had traveled to South America and back, and spread across Polynesia to Hawaii and New Zealand from there.
To achieve the best results with Ipomea Sweet Potato, grow at 60 degree night temperature. We recommend 1 plug per 4in pot and 4 plugs per 10in basket. Pinch as needed to keep plants from over-growing. Watch for aphids spider mites and white flies.
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.
